The castle of Luzarches of it in the bottom...
This type of castle court is characteristic of the period of Philippe-Auguste (XIIth century).
His dimensions form a quadrangle of 77m on 65m. The walls of curtains have a thickness of 1m70.
Belonging to the family of Bouteiller de Senlis, we owe these vestiges to Guy IV who reconstructs his castle in the first two decades of the XIIIth century. In the Renaissance, Florence's rich family, Cénami family, gathers under a single banner both seigneuries of Luzarches.
In the vast central court, a small bourgeois castle is set up in the XIXth century surrounded with a landscape garden.
... And his feudal clod
Within this castle of Luzarches is one of the last feudal clods of Val-d'Oise, built at about the year one thousand.
This primitive fort, set up by the contribution of the lands of the ditch, defended the access of the village by the East. This strategic point was perfectly linked in the defense of this sector of the city.
It is a construction to defend an earth at the beginning of the Middle Ages. It is about a watchtower surrounded with a fence and built in height on a clump of earth, herself protected by a ditch. The feudal clod is the ancestor of the fort.
