Bellefontaine has a particular history :

In Antiquity, the village of Bellefontaine sheltered a center of manufacturing of grindstones in stoneware to grind the grain: of what give evidence vestiges which were found as well in the fields as in the field of the castle.
In the Middle Ages he had there a number of potters' workshops. The bench of clay (raw material) went on along Ysieux since Pits.
They remained until the XVIIIth century.

We find the track of their productions in all the region but also in Rouen to Beauvais, and ... in Paris (during the searches in the square court of the Louvre), this while ovens were spotted, in the southern part of the municipality in particular in the former street of Brenc and in the street Abraham.
