The Abbey of Royaumont, diamond of Val-d'Oise
Built in 1228 by king Saint Louis, she belongs to the Foundation Royaumont today.
Since the park in the raised paths, we notice immediately a curious building divided into two by a channel(canal), latrines. Then we penetrate by the passage-visiting room into the magnificent Gothic convent which opens on the dining hall of the monks and the kitchens to the South, and the sacristy in the East, attached to the church spectacular ruins of which there are.
The park, traveled by canals, testify of the control(master's degree) of the Cistercians regarding hydraulics, but also regarding the installation of a cotton shadowing in the walls of the abbey in the XIXth century.
The garden of medieval inspiration is conceived to welcome exhibitions on plants.
Created in 2004 by Damée, Vallet and Partners Landscape painters ( DVA), the garden of medieval inspiration, said Garden of 9 squares, landscaped evocation of the medieval world, is conceived to welcome exhibitions on plants, their uses and the looks which we concern them. This garden explores, in every new collection of plants, an aspect of the report complex of the man with the nature in the Middle Ages as in the modern time.
