At the heart of a wooded park of about fifty hectares, the castle of Champlâtreux, built between 1751 and 1757 for Mathieu-François Molé (1705-1793), President of the Parliament of Paris, is a brilliant example of "country houses" designed for the parties and the receptions. Regular visitor to Count Molé, François-René de Châteaubriand (1768-1848) often stayed there under the Restoration. A century after him, the poet Anna de Noailles (1876-1933) liked making to her parent-in-law, the Duke and Duchess de Noailles there.
